Vision Statement
Albany High School provides an environment challenging to our students and educates them to become happy, productive, and responsible citizens of a diverse society.
Expected Schoolwide Learning Results (ESLRs)
Citizens who appreciate the arts
- Students will interpret and evaluate (in both discussion and writing) varied forms of visual art, music, drama, and dance.
- Students will demonstrate technical proficiency in at least one of the areas of the arts.
- Students will create their own original works in at least one of the areas of the arts.
Self-directed learners
- Students will participate in student lead discussions and perform a variety of cooperative learning roles.
- Students will participate in in-depth and cross-curricular projects.
- Students will create, design, and complete a culminating learning project of their own choosing.
Academically prepared individuals
- Students will be proficient in the major academic areas.
- Students will effectively use technology to conduct research.
- Students will correctly interpret information from scientific and technical sources.
Healthy individuals
- Students will analyze the impact that personal health behaviors and choices have on their lives.
- Students will analyze how family, peers, community, the environment, and public health policies influence the health of people.

- Students will research, question, identify, interpret, analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and apply information, knowledge and concepts within various contexts.

Navigators to the future
- Students will know the requirements necessary for high school graduation and college admission.
- Students will complete a personality profile and create a college/career plan.
- Students will develop the skills necessary for making personal life choices.
