If you've got an hour or so a week, you can make a difference and help Albany High School and Albany Middle School students succeed. WriterCoach Connection™ (WCC), in partnership with Albany Middle School and Albany High School, brings volunteer coaches together with all 8th and 9th grade students for one-on-one support with student writing assignments.
Consider joining us — You don’t have to be a writer or an editor to be a coach. WriterCoach Connection™, a project of the nonprofit Community Alliance for Learning, trains you to work individually with students to help them master writing and critical thinking skills. We provide a complete training course — two 3-hour meetings, plus optional classroom observation and mentoring by experienced coaches. Coaching provides students and teachers with immediate, tangible benefits. And, it is terrifically rewarding for volunteer coaches.
WCC coaches are your friends and neighbors. Join us and stay involved with students in our community. It’s fun!
