We are now beginning the course selection process for the 2010-2011 school year. 

 

Counselors will be making presentations during students’ classes to give out course selection sheets and review important information regarding course selection decisions. We will also provide a transcript for each student. These key materials should all go home in a blue folder with the student. Parents and Guardians: please note the following dates and look at these materials with your student. Please be sure to read the full instructions that come with the course selection sheets!

 

Thursday and Friday, March 4 and 5                    9^th grade presentations in IHS classes

                                                                                    Presentations in ELD 1, 2, 3 and 4 (grades 9, 10 11)

 

Tuesday and Wednesday, March 9 and 10          10^th grade presentations in World History classes

                                                                                      Presentation in World History Lab (grades 9, 10 11)

 

Tuesday and Wednesday, March 23 and 24         11^th grade presentations in US History classes

 

 

Monday and Tuesday, April 5 and 6                     Advisement Days. Students must bring COMPLETED

                                                                                    course selection sheets to school in blue folder along with

                                                                                    transcript .Teachers will review choices and make

                                                                                    recommendations.

 

Tuesday, April 6                                                      All students should bring course selection sheets home

                                                                                   to show parent/guardian so all are aware of teachers’

                                                                                   recommendations

 

Wednesday and Thursday, April 7 and 8         DUE DATES FOR COURSE SELECTION SHEETS!

Counselors will not be able to make individual appointments with students regarding course selection at this time. Counselors WILL be available on a drop-in basis for advising during lunchtimes on Thursday, March 25, Wednesday, March 31 and Thursday, April 1. Dates may be added if the demand is high. In addition, parents and students can email their counselor with questions, and if more follow-up is needed, an appointment may be scheduled.
