Eligibility

Athletic Category

  1. Albany High School graduate, or an athlete that with special circumstances for leaving early, who has been out of high school for a minimum of five years.
  2. Outstanding athletic accomplishment in one or more sports. A student who, while in high school, received athletic honors such as All League, Most Valuable Player, All State, All American, or National award automatic.
  3. A minimum two year varsity athlete at AHS who completed both seasons in good standing. One who completed the season by remaining eligible and neither quit or was removed from the team. Example: Captain and/or MVP of varsity team.
  4. A person of outstanding character, academics and leadership both during high school and after graduation.
  5. Successful participation in college or professional athletics or a very high level of competition offered in his or her sport.
  6. A significant contributor to his or her community

Special Category

  1. Retired person who has served Albany High for ten or more years.
  2. Exemplary coaching accomplishments and record.
  3. Extraordinary citizen leader.
  4. Contributed to the overall athletic program.

Nomination Process:

  1. Anyone other than a family member may submit nominations to the Hall of Fame Chairperson. Send them to Albany High Athletics Attn: Hall of Fame Chairperson.
  2. Nomination forms and specified supporting materials must be submitted in writing to the Hall of Fame Chairperson.
  3. Nomination forms shall be made available on the Albany Athletic website and in the Albany High Athletic Office.
  4. Nominations need only be made one time. Those not selected will be retained for future consideration.
